Age Concern Cheshire Online

Our Computer Learning Centre based in Age Concern Cheshire’s Hartford premises, is one of many UK Online centres that collectively offer everyone in the UK access to computers near to where they live.

Our centre specialises in offering the over 55s in the Vale Royal area – especially those who feel that they have been left behind by computer technology – the opportunity to learn computer skills.

Our computer suite, with six Internet-ready computers, boasts a comfortable and stimulating learning environment where adult learners can develop new skills at their own pace and in their own time.

To support new learners, we offer:

  • A warm welcome – particularly to absolute beginners
  • An induction programme with one-to-one support
  • Training in basic word-processing, Internet and email skills
  • Centre-prepared handouts
  • Information about progression and skills development

For a nominal registration fee new learners are offered eight one-hour sessions with a trainer to introduce them to computers in general and word-processing, Internet and Email skills in particular.

Many of our trainers are experienced volunteers who are committed to making new learners feel at ease in the computing environment.

After successfully completing our induction programme, learners are welcome to “drop in” to the centre on a casual basis to use a computer, check email, surf the Internet, etc.

For more information or to request a place on the induction programme please contact our
